About me and my therapy practice

I am a highly experienced Psychodynamic Psychotherapist who works with couples and individuals experiencing difficulties in relationships. I undertook a Master’s degree, as well as my clinical training, at Tavistock Relationships, a national organisation with an international reputation where I still work as a Visiting Clinician.

Prior to becoming a therapist, I was a family lawyer at a well-known firm, and this experiences provides me with an additional understanding of relationships, and relationship breakdown, which I harness in my psychotherapy practice.

Practice description

I am passionate about helping clients understand themselves and the relationships in their lives. Irrespective of our backgrounds, wealth, or careers, all relationships shape who we are and impact how we feel about ourselves.

Furthermore, difficulties in relationships are not limited to those with intimate partners. The nature and quality of any relationship has the capacity to cause distress. This includes with parents, siblings, friends, and, of course, your children. This is why I offer therapy to both couples and individuals – all relationships deserve thought and consideration, and so often issues in one relationship have a ripple effect on others.

I work on Zoom with couples and individuals of all ages and stages, across a wide variety of presenting issues. I provide a non-judgmental space in which thoughts and feelings can be thought about and processed. My clinical focus is psychodynamic, which means understanding how the past impacts the present. Often this happens in ways we do not recognise, and patterns repeat themselves. Once these patterns become conscious, they can shift. It is this shift which can bring relief.

There is no right time to start therapy but, if you feel that things could be better or different, or have changed in a way you do not understand, please do get in touch.

My first session

Please contact me by email to arrange a short 15 minute phone conversation. During this call we will discuss your concerns and, if appropriate, schedule an initial consultation of 75 minutes.

In this initial consultation/assessment, we will explore in more detail why you are coming to therapy, whether it is the right option for you, and whether I am the right therapist for you. It is important that the fit is right, as the therapeutic alliance is the foundation for ongoing work.
