About me and my therapy practice
I am a calm, warm and approachable person, who values and respects every person as an individual. I aim to provide a safe, trusting and empathic space, free of judgement.
I hold an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling (BACP Accredited) and a Post-Qualifying Diploma in Eating Disorders. I work with a range of problems and experiences including, but not limited to, eating difficulties, anxiety, depression, bereavement, low self-esteem and low confidence, family and relationship issues and neurodiversity. I have a particular interest in eating difficulties and working with people who have been affected by eating disorders.
Practice description
Counselling can look different for everyone and can bring up a multitude of emotions – some more challenging or unexpected than others. I will be there with you to help you navigate this important but potentially challenging process. I will support you to develop a stronger sense of self and a deeper understanding of your thoughts, feelings and experiences.
As an integrative counsellor, I draw from different theories and disciplines, combining these to create a holistic approach that can support a wide range of needs and experiences. I have a primarily non-directive, person-centred approach, while integrating aspects of transactional analysis, creative exercises and solution-focused tools.
My approach values the therapeutic relationship between counsellor and client – I believe this is at the heart of the counselling process. I will endeavour to step inside your shoes and to see the world from your perspective. As a client-led therapist, I aim to work at a pace that suits you. I aim not to provide advice or answers, but to work with and alongside you, on your personal journey of healing and self-discovery.
My first session
I offer a thirty minute introductory session, costing £20. This gives us an opportunity to meet and ask questions, discuss your needs, and to see if I am the right therapist for you.
If you would like to continue, we can arrange a regular day and time to meet. Sessions are usually weekly, but we can discuss other options if you feel this may not work for you.
If you are interested in booking an initial session, please get in touch via text or email - I aim to respond within 48 hours. We can arrange a short phone call and get an initial session booked in.
