About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Ali. I specialise in bereavement and loss counselling.
We all experience loss at some point in our lives. This can be the loss of somebody close to us or maybe your loss is a relationship, your health, confidence, or direction in life. I can help you if you are struggling in this area to make sense of the loss, explore your thoughts and emotions and begin to regain a sense of purpose.
How I can help you
Each person experiences loss differently. It may feel overwhelming, isolating and never-ending but you don’t have to navigate this journey alone. In my practice, I provide a safe, compassionate, non-judgmental space and I offer personalised support to meet your needs. Here you can express your feelings openly, no matter how complex or intense they may be. Together we will explore the emotions and thoughts you are experiencing such as sadness, anger, confusion, overthinking and maybe guilt. We will work together to reduce these areas and find a path towards peace.
My approach
I take a holistic, empathic approach to counselling, tailoring each session to meet your unique needs and circumstances. Grief and your reactions to loss are not a linear process and there is no right or wrong way. I focus on helping you make sense of what has happened, understand your emotional responses and find ways to find clarity and peace.
I am a fully qualified counsellor (BA Hons Counselling) and an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy - BACP (Accred).
I follow the guidelines and ethics set out by the BACP for good practice.

At our first meeting, I’ll complete an assessment with you, and we’ll spend time to discuss your difficulties more thoroughly, along with what you would like to achieve from your counselling sessions.
