It takes courage to begin therapy, and choosing the right therapist to meet your needs is essential. If you would like more information or explore the possibility of working together, feel free to contact me directly by phone or email or book a free 15-minute consultation where we can discuss any questions you may have before starting therapy.
About me and my therapy practice
I consider myself warm, genuine, empathic, and non-judgmental. My therapeutic approach is Person-Centred Integrative, as I do not believe in a 'one size fits all approach.' Using methods that I have learned, such as CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Mindfulness, Creative Therapy and Autplay Therapy.
Drawing on various therapeutic methods allows me to listen to what is important to you and create a holistic therapeutic support package suited to your needs.
I have worked for the local authority within the Children in Care and Care Leaving Team as a Personal Advisor (PA) for 17 years. I have recently worked as a Therapist Practitioner (for the last three years), offering therapeutic support to children, adults, and families subject to Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs); also, as a Creative Therapist working with children within an educational environment who need additional therapeutic support who are at risk of exclusion.
Everyone deserves acceptance; through therapy, your deepest fears or vulnerabilities can be revealed and explored in a safe environment without concern for others. It can also successfully equip you with the knowledge and tools to make lasting changes or be open to accepting them.
An integral part of the therapeutic relationship is primarily to establish a collaboration/partnership between the therapist and the client. The therapist's role within the relationship is that of the facilitator.
Attending therapy can feel daunting, but it is also a positive step towards refusing to accept your pathway and journey through life as it is, trusting in the process and living your best life.
"I am not what happened to me; I am what I choose to become." ― Carl Gustav Jung.
Practice description
Sessions are 50-60 minutes – £40 per session.
The therapeutic process, including forming the therapeutic relationship and bespoke support package, occurs within six weeks.
After six weeks, a review session will occur; we will review progress and determine if further therapeutic support is required.
Six weekly reviews will continue after that. Therapeutic endings will be planned and agreed upon in collaboration with the client and therapist.
My first session
The first session will include a client history take/assessment of therapeutic needs, including the client's expectations of therapy. The intake session can take up to 90 minutes; the first session will cost £60.
Paperwork will be completed, such as the client/therapy contract and consent form. This will be emailed to the client using SecureMyEmail.
Most importantly, the client will begin connecting with their therapist in the first session. You should feel safe, accepted, respected, and comfortable. Not all therapists are suitable for every person, so the client must use their first session to assess whether the therapist feels like a good match for their personality.
