About me and my therapy practice

Understanding, self-acceptance, and change, are all possible within a kind and supportive counselling relationship.

Welcome to my profile. Taking the step into therapy can feel scary at first, but the part of you trying to choose a therapist, is worth trusting.

What might a session with me be like?

As a person-centered therapist, I tailor sessions to you, while applying my professional insights and experience. I offer remote sessions (by video or telephone), based on a talking therapy model, or a specifically tailored, solution-focused approach.

Sessions take the form of a discussion (a dialogue – that’s the ‘talking therapy’ part), and, where relevant, we can work on coping strategies – such as grounding techniques (mini-meditations), or tips and exercises from compassion-focused therapy, or mindful-CBT.

Practice description

I’m an 'integrative' counsellor (psychotherapist), blending a style of talking therapy, called Person-Centered therapy, with the self-understanding and practical tools of mindfulness, self-Compassion, Mindful-CBT, and Attachment theory.

If you’re wrestling with existential questions, due to depression, a recent loss, or bereavement, I have a deep interest in Buddhism and a comfort with exploring existential topics, from a curious, open-minded, point of view.

My professional experience also has a grief/bereavement therapy focus.

How long does therapy last?

A session lasts for 50 minutes. How many sessions you have is up to you. There is no minimum or maximum term.

Normally sessions occur on a weekly basis, but I also offer fortnightly sessions.

What does it cost?

£42 per session. With concessionary rates for students, NHS/health & social care workers, those on benefits, and OAPs.

My first session

Next steps…

I offer a free (no obligation) consultation* (up to 20 minutes), as a chance to connect with me via video or telephone call, ask questions, and get a better sense of what I would be like to work with.

*We can arrange a suitable time by email, text, or phone call.

After that… you’ll have the option to book a first therapy session.

I can also answer any questions you may have by email, and book in first sessions that way.
