About me and my therapy practice
Hello, and thank you for looking at my profile. I am a BACP registered psychotherapist and counsellor qualified to Master's level, with a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychotherapy at Level 7.
I offer an empathetic, non-judgemental and confidential space where we can explore what it is that has brought you to therapy. I will listen to you and put you at the centre of our work, using our therapeutic relationship to help you achieve self-compassion, self-understanding and empowerment.
I work out of my therapy room in West Knighton, Leicester, and as an associate therapist in an established city centre psychotherapy and counselling practice.
Practice description
I work with people experiencing a range of psychological, emotional and relationship problems, including: depression, low self-esteem, bullying, stress and anxiety. People also come to therapy to work through relational hurt including family estrangement; emotional neglect, bereavement and other kinds of loss; sexual, physical and emotional abuse. I also work with people affected by life-limiting illness.
Together in our therapeutic relationship we will explore, at your pace, the things that are affecting your thoughts, feelings, life and relationship with yourself and others.
I offer weekly or fortnightly short-term, mid and long-term therapy ranging from a few weeks to several years, according to your needs. I might also sometimes use creative therapeutic techniques, if this is something you want to try.
My sessions take place face-to-face in the room, as well as online. Phone sessions are also available.
I adhere to the BACP code of ethical standards, including having clinical supervision of my work and engaging in continuous professional development.
My first session
When you contact me I will send you an intake form to fill in - when you return that, we will arrange an initial meeting either in person or online where we can see if we would like to work together.
This meeting will last up to an hour and the fee for this is £55. If we decide to work together then subsequent sessions will cost £55 each.
At our first meeting I ask about what has brought you to therapy and about you and your wider background: experiences while growing up, of family, work, etc.
If I feel that your issue is not one that I can help with, then I will do my best to refer you on to other sources of support.
