About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome. I offer a confidential, safe and non-judgemental space where you can talk freely. I am here to listen and together we can explore what brings you to counselling, the changes you hope to make and how you might achieve these.
My counselling experience is wide-ranging and includes volunteering and working with several organisations including Cruse Bereavement UK, MIND and Choices (counselling for individuals who have experienced sexual abuse in childhood). I currently work in private practice and with a Cambridgeshire based charity.
Why counselling?
People come to counselling for many reasons. You might want help with a specific problem, or you might want to talk more generally. I provide a safe and calm therapeutic space where you can talk about what’s on your mind without fear of being judged, criticised or given advice. Whatever your reason for coming to counselling, we can work together to help you explore and better understand your challenges and help you move towards a better future.
Practice description
I am a qualified, experienced BACP registered counsellor. I offer counselling for a wide range of issues, providing you a safe space to explore your feelings and thoughts and helping you to move forwards in your life.
My training focused on the psychodynamic approach; this type of counselling allows you to consider your past and perhaps recognise how some of your previous experiences are influencing your life today. In my practice I adopt a client-led integrative approach; which means I use my training and experience in psychodynamic, humanistic and CBT counselling to bring a mix of skills and techniques specifically tailored to your needs.
In line with BACP ethical standards my practice is supervised by an experienced, BACP registered senior counsellor. I also undertake regular continuing professional development to enhance my practice.
Availability and fees.
I offer online (usually zoom), telephone and in-person counselling (in Cambridgeshire, CB23). Your therapy can be time-limited or long-term, depending on your needs and financial situation. Sessions are usually weekly and cost £50 for 50-minutes. Please contact me to discuss your preferences or enquire about concessions.
I am here to help so please message me if you have any questions.
My first session
Finding the right counsellor is important; counselling can be a daunting process and it is important that you feel safe and comfortable.
You might want to use the first session to explore what brings you to therapy and your hopes for counselling. We can discuss the best way forward to meet your needs and you can decide if I am the right ‘fit’ counsellor for you. There is no obligation to continue if you decide I'm not the right person to help you at this time.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
