I work at City Therapy Rooms in EC4 on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

About me and my therapy practice

Just the experience of day-to-day living can be tough, and sometimes it feels really painful or difficult. Patterns and problems repeat in our lives, and feeling stuck or isolated is exhausting.

Therapy changes things.

I offer a calm, non-judgmental and confidential space for you to talk and think about your experience in order to understand your problems and to take decisions.

Your own experience of life is the focus, and it's useful to think of  therapy as a process which works best when a meaningful and strong therapeutic relationship develops.

I work with a diverse range of people from different cultural backgrounds, ages and walks of life.

Practice description

Some of the issues that I have worked with people about are: abuse, anger, anxiety, bereavement, divorce, depression, relationship problems, spirituality, self-esteem issues, trauma and work problems.

I’m also interested in working with:

Lawyers and professionals:

The pressures of professional life can be extreme, and I work with lawyers and senior executives from legal and other professional backgrounds in dealing with them. Having worked at a senior level in City law firms for over 25 years, I understand the challenges that professionals face in the corporate environment, and the difficulties of juggling intense work demands with the pressures of other life demands.

Some of the issues that professionals may face at work include: imposter syndrome, bullying and harassment, inequality at work, working life balance, burnout and overwhelm, dissatisfaction with work or lost motivation.

Parents of ADHD/ASD children, and recently-diagnosed ADHD/ASD adults and young people:

The impact of a diagnosis raises fundamental personal and practical issues, and therapy is a space where you can work through the implications. Feelings of loss or confusion are common and through working together you can understand and gain insight into your own experience and how you wish to live.

Men:

Expectations of what being a man means are changing and I can help you explore what works for you. In particular, you may wish to work through your feelings around family, work, relationships or children. Through discussion of your thoughts and feelings you can reflect on new ways of viewing yourself and what you want from life.

How I work

I offer long and short-term face-to-face work and work remotely via zoom/phone.

If you would like to explore working together then please get in contact to arrange an initial meeting. This will provide an opportunity for us to meet and explore whether you might find therapy helpful. If you decide you would like to continue then we would arrange a regular day and time to meet.

My first session

Your first session will last for 50 minutes. This is an opportunity to identify what your concerns are, whether or not therapy could help you work through your difficulties or whether another service might be more suitable.

You will be able to ask any questions you have about therapy.

If you decide that you would like to begin therapy, you will offered weekly sessions. These can take place on an agreed time-limited basis or be open-ended.

The initial session is charged for as a normal session.
