About me and my therapy practice
I am an Integrative Therapist and am qualified to work with individuals and with couples. Being an Integrative Therapist means that I use different complementing theories to help meet your therapeutic needs. My aim is to invite you into a safe, non-judgemental and affirming space where you can begin to start resolving the issues that are making life a difficult place for you. I believe that every person is a unique individual and needs a therapeutic approach that shows understanding and empathy for how you are experiencing the challenges in your own life and what the path forward might look like for you.
I work with clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, and panic attacks, as well as historical childhood trauma.
I also work with couples to help resolve relationship conflicts and offer a space where couples can explore what they need to move forward together or separately.
I use creative therapy tools, because sometimes it’s easier to see what is going on in your internal world through the use of figures that can be used to represent parts of you. This can be helpful when talking is difficult.
Of course not all therapy needs to be long term and sometimes it’s helpful to talk through a particular issue in short term therapy such as the Solution Focused therapy model, which typically lasts between 6 to 12 weeks.
I offer a free telephone consultation to make sure that I am the right therapist for your needs, before booking further appointments.
Practice description
I offer a nurturing and growth enhancing environment, so that you feel free to explore difficult thoughts and feelings in an emotionally and mentally safe and secure space. This helps you to start the process of healing and gives you an opportunity to begin to thrive rather than just surviving.
We spend so much of our lives coping and devising ways to cope, that we stop believing life can get any better. Entering into a therapeutic relationship where you don’t have to rely on your defence and coping strategies and feel safe enough to explore other possibilities, will change your perspective on yourself and the world around you. This opens new doors and allows you the chance to explore who you really are.
My first session
I initially offer a free telephone consultation with any prospective client. This is a way of getting to know one another to see if my approach is the best fit for your particular needs.
I offer open ended therapy sessions, with a review session after the initial 6 weeks for individuals and 8 weeks for couples. This is to help both client/s and therapist to agree a way forward for future sessions.
I also offer Solution Focused brief therapy that lasts between 6 - 12 weeks. This provides a more structured therapeutic environment for specific issues you may be facing.
Couples counselling is open ended with a review every 8 weeks. The cost is £55 an hour
