About me and my therapy practice
Today, we have 24/7 ‘expert’ advice in our pockets, yet can still feel stuck and alone in life's struggles. In a space where it feels safe to be ‘you’, I’ll work alongside you to uncover your authentic way through the lows and highs of being human.
I’ve supported clients facing a range of issues including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, traumatic experiences, relationship issues, stress and low self-esteem. I also feel I have a strong awareness of certain challenges that adults and young adults are facing, including social media, anxiety around the climate and ecological crisis, and education and workplace pressures.
There's no denying it: being human really can be tough. Life can be overwhelming, confusing, stressful and painful. In counselling, you don't have to face these experiences alone.
When we go to family, friends, and peers we can worry about what they think of us or feel inclined to take advice we’re not sure about.
By reconnecting with what’s authentically ‘you’ in a safe, therapeutic space, I believe you can begin to take your own advice, explore your options and take steps towards feeling realigned with who you are.
Practice description
As your counsellor, I'll listen to you, without judgement, offering a confidential space where we can work together to develop a clearer picture of your world.
By feeling truly heard, you may begin to relate to your experiences in new ways and see ways forward that you couldn't see before, discovering new inner resources and resilience.
My fee is £50 per session. A concessionary rate is available for full-time students and counsellors in training – please enquire with me directly for more details.
My experience
As a young adult, I experienced my own mental health issues and sought help through talking therapy which allowed me to move through these struggles. It was these personal experiences that then inspired me to train in therapeutic counselling.
During my professional training, I volunteered at two community counselling agencies, offering online video, phone and face to face sessions with adult and young adult clients.
I also volunteered at the Samaritans helpline for three years, providing emotional listening support to people in distress by telephone, email, text and face to face.
My first session
Above all else, it's really important that you choose the counsellor that's right for you.
If my profile has connected with you, please get in touch to arrange a free 30-minute no-obligation session so we can explore whether counselling with me feels like the right next step for you.
For our sessions, you would need a comfortable and private space with a good WiFi connection, where you won't be disturbed.
