About me and my therapy practice
" I am not what happened to me. I am what I choose to become."
-- Carl Gustav Jung --
Hello and a warm welcome to you. Are you struggling with emotional pain? Psychological suffering can affect every aspect of our life. It impacts on the quality of our relationships, it prevents us from achieving our goals and from living up to our true potential. Upsetting, overwhelming and unsettling internal experiences can be transformed in therapy, which is my warm invitation for you...
In order to be willing to sail the unchartered waters of one's psyche, it is vital to find a therapist that can be trusted.
My primary aim is to facilitate a safe, empathic and encouraging space for my clients where psychological pain can be explored and validated without the fear of judgement or rejection. I believe there is a solution imminent in every hardship that life throws at us, may it be as simple as compassionate acceptance at times. My role is to guide and to empower my clients on this transformative journey towards the life the desire.
ABOUT ME: I am an integrative therapist based in East London (Hackney Wick). I am a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy, and a member of the British Psychological Society. I hold First Class BSc (Hons) Degree in Integrative Counselling from the University of East London, and currently completing MSc in Psychology.
MY EXPERIENCE: Alongside my private practice located just a few minutes from Hackney Wick station, I work in NHS IAPT Talking Therapies where I design and deliver individually tailored treatments for a wide range of presenting problems such as depression, anxiety, trauma, sexual abuse, domestic violence, bullying, eating disorder, psychosis, relational problems, work-related stress, distress related to social in equalities, LGBT+ mental health, etc.
Practice description
MY APPOACH : I have been trained in all mainstream therapeutic modalities, so I aim to tailor my approach to the unique needs and goals of each client.
While facilitating the empathic and non-judgemental environment, where we can focus on here-and-now exploration, counts as the basic healing modality, during the course of therapy, I utilize various evidence-based interventions and techniques that could allow for the desired therapeutic outcome. I tend to encourage psychodynamic exploration of childhood experiences, cognitive thought deconstruction, existential self-reflection, or post-traumatic narrative reframing, to mention but a few.
THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK: I believe that our deep psychological motivation is driven by longing for safety, love, belonging and authentic actualization. Human suffering is the individual response to life circumstances that prevent or violate the fulfilment of the basic psychological needs of being loved, safe, understood and acknowledged.
In my therapeutic work, I focus on how psychological pain developed within the individual context of each client's life, how is it experienced here-and-now, how it transpires in everyday living and how it can be transformed, leading to a fuller and more satisfying life.
ETHICAL COMMITMENT: Ultimately, I always regard each client's autonomy and work in accordance with client's personality and uniqueness towards the selected therapeutic goals.
My first session
I offer a free 20-minutes telephone/zoom consultation with the focus on the mutual interaction where we can get to know each other and decide if the therapeutic trust is likely to be anticipated. After the introductory assessment, we can discuss the time framework, the treatment goals, including the opportunity to ask me any questions related to the way I work with my clients or who am I as a therapist. What I can help with
Abuse, Addictions, Anger management, Anxiety, Bereavement, Child related issues, Cultural issues, Depression, Identity issues, Loss, Obsessions, OCD, Personal development, Phobias, Post-traumatic stress, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Spirituality, Stress, Substance Dependency, Trauma, Women's issues, Work related issues
