About me and my therapy practice
I am a Counsellor and Psychotherapist working in person and online from comfortable, accessible rooms in Guildford and Fulham.
Reaching out for help when you are depressed, anxious or have feelings of low self-esteem and doubt about the direction your life is taking is hard, but you've taken the first step in taking control of your own recovery .
Whether you're struggling with a specific issue or simply want to work on understanding yourself and your relationships better, my aim is to support you in making lasting changes that improve your overall well-being.
My experience includes working with depression, anxiety, low self esteem as well as people undergoing major life transitions such as bereavement, relationship breakdowns, menopause, empty-nest or retirement. I have experience in dealing with clients with chronic fatigue and or pain, or caring for others (children, the elderly or chronically ill), and those for whom traumatic events have affected their well-being.
Neurodiversity - I also have training in supporting clients who have, or suspect they might have ADHD and/or are on the autistic spectrum.
I truly believe that given the right support everyone has it in them to change the way they view their circumstances, finding acceptance, clarity and hope for better times to come. Counselling can help those who have lost confidence or a sense of identity rediscover purpose and meaning
Most people find that speaking to a trained professional who is not part of our family or social circle turns out to be an easier place to unburden themselves and speak freely and in confidence.
Please get in touch to learn more about how I work and to see if we are a good fit. I believe this is crucial to the success of any therapy.
Practice description
My approach is integrative which means I draw on different approaches to therapy depending on and adapting to your needs.
Working together, we will explore the difficulty, crisis or trauma which brings you to counselling. This is a time where you can focus on working through current issues and work out how you would like to move forward with your life.
I will observe carefully the experiences you choose to share, use gentle questions to clarify and by approaching your issues with a different perspective help you to untangle what is at root of your discomfort.
If you are feeling depressed, anxious or confused these feelings can become overwhelming and having a neutral place to speak in confidence, to be heard and understood is the first step towards change.
My first session
In our first session I will listen carefully to what you hope to gain from counselling and we can decide together whether my approach matches your needs. It can be a daunting prospect to open up to a person unknown to you previously but I will ensure a safe, calm non-judgmental environment where we can work through the experiences and feelings that have brought you here.
If you're looking for a counsellor who can help you navigate through the challenges of life and find a sense of purpose, then please get in touch. I'm committed to helping you achieve your goals and look forward to working with you either for a short term issue or providing a long-term therapeutic relationship that fosters personal growth and development.
Sessions are usually weekly, lasting 50 minutes and cost £65 per session.
Therapy works best when conducted on a regular basis. I will reserve a weekly slot for you and ask that 48 hours notice is given if for any reason you cannot attend. For cancellations within the 48 hours I will try to offer you another appointment in the same week, but cannot guarantee this will be possible.
I offer a free 20-minute telephone call to discuss your situation and help you decide whether my approach would suit you. Please contact me if you would like to arrange a call.
I’m based in both Guildford and Fulham for face to face sessions. Online sessions are also available, wherever you are based.
