About me and my therapy practice

As an experienced and accredited counsellor and psychotherapist, I care deeply about what I do. You may be depressed, anxious, stressed, angry or have relationship problems or work-related difficulties. I will listen to you with empathy and without judgement so that can I see your world through your eyes and so that you feel heard. If your thoughts and feelings are confusing, conflicted or unclear, I will work with you collaboratively to unravel and make sense of them.

I approach my work with hope and optimism and will work alongside you to explore and understand the roots of your difficulties so that you can gain new perspectives on them. A greater understanding of yourself can give you the freedom and autonomy to make positive and lasting changes in your life.

I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by its Code of Ethics and professional standards. I have completed a rigorous five-year BACP accredited training and hold an Advanced Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling. I have also completed specialist training in eating disorders. As well as running my private practice, I am also a tutor on a Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling course. In the past, I worked for many years as a volunteer for the charity Family Lives, where I supported individuals struggling with different aspects of parenting and family life.

Whilst I have worked with people from different walks of life and backgrounds and with a wide range of issues, I treat each client as an individual whose unique experience is more important than the symptom.
