About me and my therapy practice
Allowing you to feel heard, accepted and understood is at the heart of my practice. I am a warm, friendly and compassionate person-centred counsellor who looks to provide a safe place for you to explore the things that are bothering you and know yourself better, free from any judgement.
Working in the NHS for several years has given me a wealth of experience with diverse mental health problems, physical health conditions and life challenges. Whether you know what is bothering you, or you have a general feeling of discontent, confusion or overwhelm, having the time and space to talk about it freely can empower you to understand it and consider the best way forward for you.
I am most passionate about helping clients understand themselves. This may be a struggle with low confidence or self-esteem, feeling lost and not knowing who you are, or moving through life transitions and milestones (eg becoming a parent, leaving home, career change, menopause). My work is focused on enabling personal growth and helping you to become the best version of you.
I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and alongside my therapy work have had voluntary roles for babyloss charities including Sands and the Twin Trust.
I work with adults aged over 18.
Practice description
I offer 50-minute sessions in-person at Studio Fettle, a health and wellbeing centre in Humberston (https://www.studiofettle.co.uk/).
I also work online (via Google Meet) or telephone and can be flexible in offering evenings and weekends.
We can discuss your preferred and most convenient time and method during the initial contact.
My first session
Following your first contact, I offer a free 15-minute call to give us chance to share a little information about each other, discuss what your needs are, and for us to decide together if I am the right counsellor for you.
We can then agree how you want to move forward, if you would like to start straight away or need time to consider starting therapy.
