About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome to my therapy practice.
Are you surviving or thriving? Anxiety, stress, depression, anger, grief or trauma – you may be feeling one or more of these challenging states, leaving you depleted and unable to live life to the full. A feeling of exhaustion and a sense of being overwhelmed may leave you feeling stuck and unable to move on with your life. You may also notice yourself becoming prone to ill health as a result. By making time for yourself you can begin to heal old wounds, start living life in the present and work towards the possibility of thriving in the future.
My approach is holistic and person-centred. Working collaboratively and at your pace, we will begin by exploring those issues which are impacting you now. From our first session together, we will seek ways to help you develop unique resources and self care tools that you can implement straight away. We may explore creative ways of working together using a variety of art media ( the ability to draw is not a requirement here). I believe in the innate ability of humans to heal old wounds and restore equanimity.
I provide a safe and confidential space allowing you to explore any issues that are preventing you from living life fully; therefore enabling you to develop emotional resilience whilst promoting healing and the hope of long-lasting change. I encourage empathy and self compassion in my therapeutic work and am committed to working with and alongside you on your journey. Authenticity and professionalism embody my work with clients; I respect your privacy and autonomy at all times.
Practice description
My practice is based in Wivelsfield Green, near Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill.
I offer long and short term counselling and typically see clients weekly. A session lasts approximately 50 minutes. I offer a limited number of concesionary rates.
I have a diploma in Humanistic Counselling from the University of Chichester (BACP approved) and am committed to ongoing training and personal development. Before I began working in private practice I volunteered as a Counsellor with Carer's Support West Sussex and later with the Horizon Centre Hospice in Brighton.
I am a member of the BACP, M(BACP) and adhere to their Ethical Framework.

My first session
In our first session we will explore what has brought you to counselling at this time. You will have an opportunity to share and describe what issues are impacting you now. In this introductory session I will ask you questions relating to your history, underlying issues and support networks. We'll also explore resources and self care. It is also an opportunity for you to ask me questions and to experience how I work.
I can see you either face to face for 50 minutes or via Zoom. I'm happy to have a brief phone call if you prefer, I do not charge for this.
