About me and my therapy practice
I am a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor working in private practice and for the NHS. I specialise in depression, anxiety and trauma.
I know talking about feelings can sometimes feel a daunting task. I provide a safe, warm and non judgemental space to explore any difficulties you may be facing with no pressure to be anything other than yourself.
Perhaps there is a need for change - we often know the root cause of the problem, but also occasionally, we don’t. I am an experienced therapist who believes we all have a deep need to be understood and heard; the feeling that another human being gets it.
For me the most important aspect of therapy is the relationship between us. Whilst building trust together, we can look at where you are at in your life at the moment and where you would like to be. I will see you as a whole person, rather than the issues you bring and hope to empower you to make positive changes in your life at your own pace.
Practice description
Life can be challenging at times and we all have a deep need to be understood and heard - the feeling that another human being gets it.
I provide a safe, warm and non judgemental space to explore any difficulties you may be facing.
I have expansive experience of working with children, young people and adults who experience difficult aspects of life such as anxiety, phobias, bereavement, low self esteem, loss and depression, relationship issues, trauma and PTSD.
I am training in Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) which is an evidenced based practice for PTSD, trauma and many other mental health difficulties.
My first session
I offer a free 30 minute Zoom introductory call which will be a way for us to find out a little more about each other and what you would like to achieve from you therapy.
Going forwards I offer face to face and remote sessions which can be held on Zoom.
My training is integrative and as each client is unique, I will draw on different theories to use a tailor made approach in my work with you. I see being an integrative practitioner as being bilingual, being able to understand you in many different ways.
