About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I'm Callum. I trained to become a counsellor following a positive experience as a client. I know what it is like to sit in that chair for the first time, and I still do it regularly. I have been in practice for over six years, and I have worked with a diverse population of clients around the world. I am a fully qualified, registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Practice description

As a pluralistic practitioner, I believe that there is no a generally prescriptive approach to counselling. I feel that it is my responsibility to adapt to your way of working, and ensure that you remain at the centre of the work. I am experienced and fully trained in the application of a range of therapeutic techniques, tools, and theory, integrating aspects of Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Existential Psychotherapy, Mindfulness, Person-Centred therapy, Psychoanalytic therapies such as Transactional Analysis, and Psychoeducation.

My first session

A first session will generally include;

  • Contracting, with an overview of professional boundaries and practical considerations for therapy.
  • An exploration of what has brought you to counselling.
  • An exploration of how you would like to use the sessions moving forward, and any therapeutic goals that you might have in mind.
  • Getting to know one another (feel free to ask about me if you would like to)
