About me and my therapy practice

I’m Mark and I am a fully qualified and registered Counselling Psychotherapist (MBACP)

I work at your pace aiming to offer you to be seen, heard and accepted in a way that can often not be provided by those closest to us, sometimes through fear of judgement or rejection. I hold the space as an opportunity for you to explore you, unburden the unsaid or the painful to carry.

My aim is to create a safe, nurturing and empowering environment, where you are supported to bring all of you, with curiosity to both the conscious and unconscious. I welcome the parts that you know and accept, and those that are less familiar, possibly in need of compassion or understanding. My hope in working together is that I can help you find you, connecting with your true authentic self, possibly for the first time.

My therapeutic practice and philosophy is grounded in the belief that the past shapes our present, in particular those experiences from our younger years. Attempting to make sense of them, can at times answer why we feel stuck or find that we are repeating unhelpful patterns in relation to ourselves, others or situations.

Through this, provides an opportunity to perhaps understand why we act in particular ways, make certain decisions or have styles of relationship that may or may not serve us well. This allows the potential for healing from the past and looking to the choices in the present which can allow for life to be different in the future.

Perhaps you come having had a recent life event that has left you feeling overwhelmed, afraid or lost, or something has changed for you that is causing you unease or distress. Maybe nothing makes sense. Whatever brings you here, whether you know or not, I’m committed to welcoming you with openness and compassion.
