About me and my therapy practice
I am a Humanistic Integrative Therapist, which means I believe in people’s capacity for healing and growth. I draw on a variety of models, including Gestalt, Person-centred and Transactional Analysis, working in a way that meets each person’s individual needs.
I offer a non-judgemental, empathic space in which we can establish a relationship built on warmth and trust. I will be led by what you want to bring at a pace that works for you. I will meet you with compassion, inviting a here-and-now exploration of your feelings, thoughts and experiences so that you can gain clarity over your experiences and work towards making the changes you want to make.
In our sessions, my role is to listen, support you and be alongside you as you identify and explore challenges you are facing. At times, I may make observations and invite gentle challenges to heighten awareness and gain a deeper understanding of yourself.
I know from experience, that therapy can be a step towards real change. I believe that, given the right conditions, each of us possesses the inner ability to expand our awareness and realise our true potential.
Practice description
I work face-to-face at New Road Psychothrapy Centre in Hove, as well as from a lovely room in the centre of Lewes. I also offer sessions online.
My first session
Our first session will be a chance to get a sense of each other, for you to tell me a little about why you came to counselling and what you’d like to get out of it and also to ask me any questions you might have. I will be led by your pace and you can share as much or as little as feels right for you. At the end of our initial meeting, if you decide you’d like to work together, we can agree a regular day and time for our sessions.
