About me and my therapy practice
Hi I am Jo, a qualified BACP accredited therapist based in Weybridge. I work with adults and adolescents 16 year plus either face to face or remotely.Maybe you are looking for a counsellor to talk about a specific problem, or maybe things just aren’t quite right at the moment. Whatever you are going through, I would like to help. We all encounter problems at some point in our lives and asking for help can be difficult. I believe talking things over with a trained counsellor can make a real difference.
Counselling is a space to organise your thoughts and make better sense of the situation. It’s a space where you can talk, engage and tell your story and gain deeper self-awareness. Being truly heard and understood by a professional can be a first step towards making positive changes in your life.
Practice description
I am a Counsellor with counselling rooms in Weybridge. I work in a person-centred way which simply means I strive to build a collaborative, trusting relationship which will allow you to explore your thoughts, focus on your personal choices and how you might like to move forward.
I believe that everyone is different and unique, and everyone’s issues need different considerations and by offering elements of different approaches we work together to unpick what might be troubling you.
You have already taken the brave step of looking for a therapist, don’t hesitate and contact me with any questions.
My first session
I am here to create a supportive environment, where we explore what is difficult or bothering you. My role as a counsellor is to work with you to help to make sense of life and to explore what may be keeping you stuck in unhelpful ways of relating and identifying patterns of behaviour in a non-judgemental space leading to healthy personal development. My approach is warm and friendly, and I believe counselling is your space to explore what is going on for you at your own pace.
The first session acts as an opportunity for us to meet, discuss the structure of the sessions, talk about what has brought you to therapy, and outline what you want to achieve, along with any goals.
You can expect to find a collaborative partnership in me, someone who will explore and make sense of the problems you are struggling with.
To book a free 15 min consultation please e mail me and I will aim to respond to you within 48hrs. Its important that you feel comfortable with me that’s why I offer a free 15min consultation to answer any questions or concern you might have. Plus, for me to ask you a few questions as well.
