About me and my therapy practice

Hello I'm Clara and thank you for visiting my page.

Talking to someone about issues you may be facing can often be difficult, so well done for making that first step. Searching for a counsellor can also prove difficult and it is important to find the right one for you. I believe the most important aspect of therapy is the relationship between you and your counsellor.

There are many approaches to counselling and as a qualified Integrative Counsellor, I'm not limited to one method and I work with several theoretical approaches such as Person Centred, Gestalt, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Transactional Analysis. I also offer creative ways of working which can help where it is difficult to find the words.

I work with a whole person approach and will tailor therapy to your individual needs and personal circumstances. I offer a warm, caring, non-judgemental and collaborative approach to support you on your journey of self exploration. I will be alongside you in your healing, realising your potential and discovery of how to live your best life.

I have experience of working with stress, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, ADHD, PTSD, sexual abuse, domestic abuse, addiction, attachment, relationship issues, parenting, carers, end of life and bereavement

Practice description

I provide a safe and confidential environment in a warm and spacious room within The Wellbeing Centre, Chepstow. I am also able to offer online sessions. Should you decide to contact me we will have an initial meeting and decide together if counselling could be helpful. I offer both short and longer term work. Sessions will last 60 minutes usually weekly at a time agreed. I can provide longer sessions at request.

Previous to my private practice I have worked to support clients struggling with drug and alcohol addictions and have previously volunteered with womankind a charity that supports woman who have experienced sexual abuse and rape.

In 2019 I was involved for over a year supporting a local arts charity with creative dance/movement and creative writing for clients in recovery and I have volunteered at a local loss and bereavement support group.

As part of my continued personal development I have ongoing training and regular supervision. I am a member of the BACP and abide by their ethical framework.

About me and my therapy practice

As a relational supervisor I offer a safe, warm and non-judgemental space to reflect on the emotional impact of your work and support you to bring your client work in as open and honest a way as you can. During supervision we will consider the nature of the relationships between counsellor and client, supervisor and counsellor and any organisational contexts, to reflect on theoretical and ethical approaches to counselling, to promote the safety and wellbeing of your clients and to support your own development and self care.

I offer individual supervision online or in person and can offer in person group supervision.

My first session

I offer a 30 minutes introductory meeting for which there will be no charge.
