Practice description
As a counsellor my role is to provide space and guidance to help you on your journey of self-discovery; To enable you to examine your life and make new, meaningful choices within it. I am a Play Therapist and work with children from the age of 4yrs. I am also a CBT Psychotherapist. I have an empathetic, non-judgmental approach and provide emotional support. I offer a chance to reflect on the difficulties and problems you are experiencing, in a safe and confidential environment, with someone from outside your usual support network. Together we can explore your situation in a way that leads to fresh perspectives and an enhanced understanding of yourself. Counselling is not about giving you solutions it is about empowering you to make your own changes.
My first session
I offer a free introductory 30 minute online or telephone session. This gives us both a chance to introduce ourselves and ask any questions. If you decide to proceed to Therapy following your introductory session, I offer online or face to face appointments, (face to face appointments in the Renfrewshire area). When you attend for your first appointment, the focus of this session is to make sure you feel safe and comfortable. Together we will complete an assessment, this will help us to get to know one another and assist us to agree on goals for our work together. We will discuss a suitable day and time for you to attend your sessions, either online or in person. And agree on how often you would like to attend. I look forward to meeting you.
