About me and my therapy practice
I am a professionally qualified Counsellor who helps people to move forward with their lives when they’re struggling. And I care about trying to make a difference. Whether your issues are related to depression, anxiety or panic attacks, stress, trauma, relationship or family issues, lack of self-esteem or confidence, grief and loss or lack of motivation (to name just a few areas of the areas I specialise in), I recognise that we are all human and usually trying to do our best in difficult circumstances.
Counselling isn’t a job for me - it's a vocation. And I think my passion – for what I do as well as for helping the people I work with – is evident and an important component in why the way I work has led to positive and tangible therapeutic results.
Whatever the challenges you face, my goal is to help you achieve the change you want - whatever this change may look like to you.
In addition to being a Member of the BACP and an Accredited Member of the National Counselling Society, I have trained and worked as a counsellor with Relate, specialising in couples counselling. In addition, I have worked as an an Approved Therapist for Anxiety UK and have also trained with (and volunteered for) Cruse Bereavement, the leading charity in the areas of grief/loss, as well as with Relate. I have a Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling (Prof. Dip. Psy. C) and am also an Approved EFT Practitioner (Level 2).
Practice description
As an Integrative Counsellor, I incorporate different techniques and strategies from a range of therapies so I can intuitively draw on the most effective methods for your needs. Most importantly for you though is to find someone who you are happy to talk to and who makes you feel comfortable, supported and ‘heard’. And that’s what my focus is on - establishing a good rapport so that I can work with you in a non-judgemental way that helps you feel understood and empowered. Armed with fresh perspectives from our discussions as well as a new sense of self-awareness, we can work together on the most effective therapeutic tools and life strategies to get things more on track and bring about the constructive change you are hoping to achieve.
My first session
Choosing the right counsellor for you – and finding support which is both compatible and what you are looking for - is an important decision for you which I totally understand. Drop me an email or give me a call if you would like to have an initial chat free of charge or ask any questions, or if you would like to book a first session. Initially, we can talk about what you are hoping to achieve through therapy and establish how we can work together to achieve this; then you can decide whether you want to take things further without obligation
In addition, you may find it useful to look at my website for further information on how I work: https://freshpagecounselling.co.uk
My priority is to establish a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment to understand where you at and what may have led you to the point you are at now (and to make sense of that and to talk about what change looks like to you).
I always try to arrange first sessions quickly - usually within the week after you decide you want to book (I recognise that once clients have made the decision to change their lives they usually want to move forward ASAP). Appointments are available from 9am – 7pm (for an 8pm an finish) and I usually work from Monday through to Friday.
Each individual session is £55 and lasts 50 minutes and each couples session is £70 (which is usually 60 minutes). I also offer concessions to low income earners, students and front-line workers as well as discounts for block bookings.
I also have international professional indemnity insurance which enables me to work anywhere in the world excluding USA and Canada, which may be helpful to clients who are travelling or working abroad (this is not usually covered by standard indemnity policies).
