About me and my therapy practice

Hi there, I understand that coming to counselling may feel daunting, but it is a brave step forward to growth and self-awareness at a difficult time in your life. Life can sometimes be overwhelming, fraught with difficulties that make us question who we are and what we want.

You may be bringing current issues or deep-rooted wounds, a desire to make changes in your life or the problems may not be so clear. Perhaps relationships are difficult, or too many aspects of life feel overwhelming. Your story may encompass trauma and abuse. Maybe work is causing issues, or you need to discuss the death of a loved one.

The therapeutic journey allows a safe space to explore these feelings, thoughts, and behaviours in a non-judgmental and confidential environment.

Sessions can be weekly or flexible, short or long-term depending on what you feel you may need.

Practice description

I am a fully qualified integrative counsellor, meaning I use a combination of therapeutic approaches to best suit your needs. I predominantly use the person-centred approach this is a non-directive approach believing that you are the expert in your own life, I will listen and be your sounding board.

I am an empathic listener offering a warm and gentle approach.  I do not give advice; instead, I will offer you a safe nurturing space where you do not need to filter who you are or how you feel. I will help you sort through what is troubling you, by working alongside you at a pace that suits your needs, offering reflections and a different perspective that helps you find the answers you seek.

Through this process, you may come to greater awareness and clarity that enables you to be empowered and live your life in a meaningful and fulfilled way.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their ethical guidelines. I offer both short and long-term therapy in a way that makes you feel comfortable, this could be face-to-face, online video or via telephone.

Please feel free to reach out for a free initial 20-minute telephone consultation.

My first session

I offer an initial 20-minute phone consultation free of charge, this allows you to outline your circumstances briefly and to see how I may be able to support you.

If you then wish to progress further, we can arrange a 50-minute assessment session, this is an opportunity for us to get a sense of each other, I will ask questions about your background and life and what brings you to therapy, and together we can explore expectations and desired outcomes.

Before we meet for our first session, I will send you my working agreement and privacy statement any questions arising from these can be answered during our first session.
