About me and my therapy practice
Face to face and online sessions. I have a background working with clients coping with anxiety and depression as well as cancer sufferers, their families.
As an Integrative therapist, I will seek out the most appropriate strategies, from a number of different therapies so that your sessions are tailored to your needs . I predominantly draw upon Person Centred Counselling theory, CBT and Transactional Analysis to address issues such as; anxiety; trauma; depression/lack of motivation; disturbed sleep; increasing performance/productivity, relationships/social interaction; existential angst/lack of meaning.
I offer the willingness and capability to remain with you, one-pointed focus and a non-judgemental position, the pillars of effective therapy. Diverse life experiences inform my practice, a background in design, teaching and education from a developmental psychological perspective. In addition to the above, I have spent a number of years as a Buddhist monk training in meditation and mindfulness and I have familiarised myself with a lot of research regarding the positive efficacy of these practices upon wellbeing and how that can be applied to help my clients.
I also offer 'walk and talk therapy'. For some clients, being outside and moving helps them focus and regulate their concentration during a session. Feel free to email me to find out more.
Practice description
Face to face and online therapy. Mental health issues are hard to find relief from, finding ourselves going around in circles and losing touch with our previous lifestyle, wondering 'how did I get here? Am I ever going to find a way out of this?' Struggling to complete tasks, enjoy what we used to be able to without a thought or get out of bed.
I offer you a safe, nurturing, non-judgemental environment towards your growth. I work as an Integrative therapist so that your sessions are tailored to your needs and particular experience. I predominantly draw upon Person Centred Counselling, CBT and Transactional Analysis to address issues such as: anxiety; social anxiety; trauma; depression/lack of motivation; disturbed sleep; increasing performance/productivity, relationships/social interaction; existential angst/lack of meaning
In the last 2 years or so many of us have found that lockdown restrictions have brought emotional challenges and experiences, they may have highlighted to us that there are some aspects of our mental health that we would like to work on. You may have found yourself experiencing depression, generalised anxiety, increased social anxiety or feeling sad without fully understanding why or not knowing how to find relief.
As part of my ongoing professional development, I am currently studying an Msc in Neuroscience and am an advocate of incorporating scientific research on causes of wellbeing, fundamentals like sleep, nutrition and activity and how they effect experiences such as depression and anxiety. Considering these and how my clients can utilise strategies to help improve their quality of life, I provide therapy that is aimed at improving your wellbeing in a holistic way.
Ultimately, I endeavour to leave you with the tools and the empowerment to understand yourself more fully. With deepening clarity, you can gain ownership over your own experience, continuing growth and happiness.
My first session
I offer an optional free 15 minute telephone consultation to give you the opportunity to ask me any questions you may have and get a better feel for what I do.
This is your opportunity to be able to tell me about what has been happening for you. There is no onus on you to describe your full personal and historical experience (although many clients find this helpful and it is perfectly ok to do so) if you don’t feel it is particularly relevant, we can simply focus on what is happening for you in the present, in your life as it is now
Types of therapy
Behavioural, CBT, Cognitive, Existential, Family therapy, Integrative, Interpersonal, Person centred, Phenomenological, Psychodynamic, Relational, Transactional analysis

As an Integrative therapist, I will seek out the most appropriate strategies, from a number of different therapies so that your sessions are tailored to your needs . I predominantly draw upon Person Centred Counselling theory, CBT, ACT and Transactional Analysis to address issues such as; anxiety; abuse; trauma; depression/lack of motivation; disturbed sleep; increasing performance/productivity, relationships/social interaction; existential angst/lack of meaning.
I am an accredited (via The Association for Psychological Therapies (APT)) Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) therapist. ACT has been shown in a number of RCT trials to be effective (equal to CBT) in the treatment of anxiety, depression and addiction. Many organisations have stated that ACT is empirically supported according to their standards including the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the UK National Institute for Health and Care Excellence.
I have received training and utilise the Grayrock method for managing insomnia
I am a trained relationship therapist (via The Grove Practice: Centre of excellence for psychotherapy) which can be applied to business, friendships and marriage/long term partnerships
I offer the willingness and capability to remain with you, one-pointed focus and a non-judgemental position, the pillars of effective therapy. There is also no expectation for you to give a polished, linear presentation of your experience. If you find yourself going off on many tangents, it still contributes to my ability to get a full picture of what you are experiencing. In short, your first session (at least) is there for you to express freely what's going on for you
