It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support and empower you in that journey.
Practice description
My practice is via telephone counselling. This offers clients greater flexibility for their sessions especially in today's world where we seem to juggle numerous tasks and time is both limited and precious.
Frequency and duration of counselling
The duration of the therapeutic process will depend on the type of difficulty or problem you are facing. Some people prefer to work with an open contract, whereas other people prefer to work with a fixed number of sessions followed by a review. In all cases, every six sessions we will review the therapeutic process together. This helps to assess whether your needs are being met and, this will also help (if required) to carry out the necessary adjustments and/or establish new goals for the process.
Confidentiality
This is a very important aspect of the counselling relationship. Everything that is discussed in the counselling session is kept in the strictest confidence. If there is convincing evidence that you intend to harm yourself or others, I may need to break confidentiality by informing your doctor, or in serious cases the police, again this would ideally only take place with your prior knowledge.
Your counselling sessions should be held where you are in a safe place and cannot be overheard by others.
I offer a professional, confidential and non-judgemental approach with all my clients. I use a combination of therapies to meet your individual needs always working at your pace building a trusting safe therapeutic relationship where you feel fully supported in working towards positive change.
My first session
I offer all my clients an initial free call following your enquiry about therapy. This is more of an introduction and to ensure that you are comfortable with the process before we commence sessions.
Our first session will involve an assessment of your individual needs. We will establish together your hopes for the outcome of therapy. We can then put together plans and work towards this.
