About me and my therapy practice
Hi, my name is May. I have just moved to UK with my family from Hong Kong since May, 2021. I have worked as a family counsellor for over 18 years both in Hong Kong and in UK. Moreover, I have experience in working at church counselling center, NGO as well as teaching as a guest lecturer/ clinical supervisor at university.
My counselling experience is also including working with different ethnicities and cultural backgrounds. Including Asian, Chinese, Overseas Chinese, HongKonger, South east Asian etc. I like hearing people different life stories which are always amazing and understand how hard that they have been through. I have lots of experience working with family of origin and relationship issues as well. Yes, I believe that our family of origin is very important and gives us a lot of influences in our lives.
Leaving my homeland to settle in a new country has never been easy. I am sure this will become a golden opportunity for me to understand people from different backgrounds and cultures.
Practice description
My counselling approach is more on family therapy based with humanistic theories, such as Bowen's and Satir's model, which help me to understand a person in a family context.
If you would like to understand better about yourselves, your family backgrounds. please come to share with me your life stories. I am sure we will find a way out and God will lead us through. See you!
