About me and my therapy practice
I specialise in counselling for young people (11 -18 Years) and adults. I currently offer face-to-face counselling in Teddington, South West London and online counselling for clients across the UK. I also provide online services engaging children in counselling through video games, such as Minecraft.
I specialise in supporting those who are struggling with low mood, poor self-esteem, identity issues, friendships, anxiety, panic attacks, parental separation, grief, self-harming or suicidal thoughts to understand and explore what is troubling them, to find their voice and improve their mood and their relationships.
Practice description
I offer a safe and relaxing environment for clients to explore whatever issues they may have. Each person’s experience of therapy is personal and I like to provide a down-to-earth, forward-thinking and solution-focused environment where I recognise that it is the relationship between the client and counsellor that is of the utmost importance.
As an integrative counsellor, I am influenced by a variety of approaches that inform my work. This means that I recognise that all clients have different life experiences and are unique and that one approach does not fit all. I, therefore, draw on different theoretical approaches that influence the way in which I work with you, dependent on your needs. In particular, I recognise that it can be helpful to look at past experiences to understand current difficulties in relationships. I am a thoroughly modern counsellor and am dedicated to providing counselling in a straightforward, non-judgmental and relaxed setting.
I'm a Registered Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and am bound by their code of ethics. I am also a member of the Association for Counselling and Therapy Online
My first session
The initial consultation is designed to get an idea of the difficulties you are currently grappling with. In the session, you will be asked a bit about your background, family dynamics and medical history.
It can sometimes be a bit daunting meeting a therapist for the first time but I want to assure you that I will endeavour to make you feel as comfortable as possible.
The initial consultation is there to give us both a chance to see if we can work together and for you as the client to feel comfortable with me as your counsellor. This is without further obligation.
