About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative therapist. That means that I use the different types of therapy that I have trained in, based on your needs and wishes. For me, it’s all about our relationship in the therapy room and what you hope to get out of it.
This is your life, your journey. I would feel honoured to travel alongside you and discover with you. My approach is based on confidentiality, acceptance, and individuality, in a warm and safe environment.
I work with people from all walks of life and with varying concerns or worries. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, stress, depression, feeling sad, relationship issues, trauma or low self-esteem, to name a few.
I also specialise in sleep-related issues such as insomnia or sleep-induced anxieties. I offer sleep-training for adults, called CBT-i (more details available on my website www.insomniahealing.com).
You can email or call me to discuss what you are looking for in therapy and we can see whether you like what you hear. We would set up 1 initial session, just to see whether you think it fits. After that, we can see whether you would like to continue with short, medium or long-term therapy. It’s up to you.
Practice description
We meet weekly for 50 minutes, each week at the same time, either online or in-person. If you need help setting up online, I can guide you, it’s not difficult, even if technology is not your thing.
As an integrative therapist I work Existentially, Psychodynamically and with CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy), depending on my client's needs.
I have trained with psychiatrists at the Royal London Hospital and offer a CBT-i programme for people who struggle to sleep at night. This is a set number of sessions and more details about it are available on my site.
I also work with couples, online and in person.
My first session
The first session is about us figuring out whether we would like to work together. We will talk about why you have come to therapy and what you hope to get out of it. We will talk about your life in general and some of the experiences you have had. About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative psychotherapist with a specialisation in sleep problems.
If you are looking at my profile because you suffer with a lack of good quality sleep, I have been there too. After suffering with insomnia for many years and trying so many different methods to cure it, I discovered CBT-i and it changed my life. So much so that I retrained as a psychotherapist and a CBT-i practitioner.
As well as working with sleep issues, I also work with generalised anxiety and depression, relationship issues, trauma, self-confidence, couples and more. You can find out more about this at www.zehavahhandlertherapy.com
Practice description
I offer two services to deal with sleep difficulties, based on what the difficulty is and what you prefer.
One is a five-week CBT-i course that looks at the causes of insomnia and creates new behaviours and routines that allow you to develop a healthier sleep pattern.
The other combines psychotherapy (both psychodynamic and existential) with CBT-i tools and is tailored to your specific needs.
My first session
I offer an initial consultation (telephone, online or in-person) to discuss your concerns and how I may be able to help you. If you are looking for help with your sleep, we will run through a sleep assessment and discuss what would be the best approach for you. This gives us a chance to get to know each other a little, and to decide whether we would work well together. I am happy to answer any questions and discuss how therapy works, which may be really helpful if this is your first time trying it out.
