About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified and experienced humanistic and integrative therapist, and my aim is to establish a warm therapeutic working relationship with you where you can be yourself, without being judged. I offer a safe, welcoming space for you to share your hopes, doubts, fears, anxieties, and vulnerabilities. I will respect you and value your experience, offer my understanding and genuine empathy, giving you the space to explore the changes you want to make with time and self-awareness, to reach your unique potential.
My private practice is based in the Bingham NG13 area; I offer sessions face to face, online using Zoom, or by telephone. I have availability Monday to Friday including some evenings. I offer weekly short-term therapy (up to 12 sessions) or long-term based on your needs, which we would discuss.
You may be feeling depressed, isolated, anxious, or struggling with relationship issues, abuse, bereavement, illness, or other difficulties. I will work with you to explore your experience in the present and any patterns that may be repeating in your life and relationships, and past experiences (such as those in childhood). This may help you come to terms with what you are experiencing and live your life as fully as possible.
Practice description
I believe in the worth of all individuals, treating people fairly and valuing difference. I welcome diversity and inclusivity, as it allows me to value the uniqueness of everyone. My own personal life experiences have shaped who I am today and how I choose to live; courageously, authentically, with love, kindness, respect, and integrity.
Throughout my life prior to becoming a therapist, I have experienced different types of relationships and challenges within my career and personal life. I understand what it is like to experience bereavement, challenging relationships, family dynamics, relational breakdowns, chronic illness, redundancy, and lifestyle changes, all of which gives me insight into the challenges my clients might be experiencing.
I intrinsically believe that everyone has the capacity to move forward and reach their full potential, experience their whole self and their uniqueness.
My personal experience of psychotherapy has led me to trust in the value of the therapeutic relationship. I know from my own experience how important it is to have the right therapist, one who you feel comfortable and safe with. I am passionate about my work and through talking together in confidence, I can help you through whatever brings you to therapy, so that you feel heard, understood, and valued.
My first session
Our first session gives you the opportunity to see if I am the right therapist for you and for me to ensure I am the best person to meet your needs. If we both decide to work together, I will invite you to give me a brief history of what brings you to counselling and your hopes for the future.
Following this, I will ask you to complete a form with your contact details along with our counselling contract outlining how we will work together.
I charge £40 for an initial/introductory session.
