About me and my therapy practice
Are you looking for friendly, professional support to help you through difficult times?I can guide you through the emotions you are experiencing, and help you be free of your anxiety and concerns to regain clarity and feel calm.
Together we will explore what's on your mind, and you will have space and time to talk openly about your worries. I aim to provide the right environment to enable you to heal and bring about the change you desire.
I will listen with complete acceptance, whatever your situation or circumstances. You can be assured you will be treated with care, respect and empathy.
I work with every client in an individual way, as no two people or problems are the same. I look at the whole person, free from labels and conditions. My work is Integrative, with a person-centred heart and I adapt therapy to each client as necessary.
I am committed to a fully inclusive service and welcome individuals of any gender, sexuality, ethnicity, ability or age.
The safely of my clients is paramount. As well as being registered with the BACP, I have professional indemnity insurance and am registered with the Information commissioner's office.
I hold a BA (Hons) in Psychology, a PGCE and a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling.
In 2020 I qualified as a registered online and telephone counsellor.
I have recently completed a training course in ADHD management and have much understanding of neurodiversity, particularly ADHD. If you have, or suspect you have ADHD I can help you through it.
My previous background is working with NHS staff, and students.
I have experience working with young adults and extensive knowledge of children and young people.
I offer short- or long-term counselling and offer a student discount.
Practice description
I am currently seeing clients face to face at a private therapy suite in Macclesfield town centre.I also see clients on line via Zoom and over the telephone.
Face-to-face counselling can also be offered outdoors by individual arrangement.
I offer to see clients in their own homes if required.
My first session
I offer a free 15-minute telephone call before you book in so we can introduce ourselves to each other and feel comfortable before our first session. The quality of the therapeutic relationship is important for therapy to be successful, so you need to know that you can feel safe and relaxed. I will explain the process and answer any questions you may have. After our first session, there is no obligation to continue should you feel that we are not right for each other.
If you choose to carry on, we will plan together the timing and duration of sessions. Usually, we would aim to plan for 6-8 sessions initially, and review part way through.
