About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP registered counsellor/therapist and I provide a compassionate and supportive space for you to explore the difficulties and uncertainties you are facing. These could include bereavement and other life transitions, work stress, unhappy family dynamics, anxiety, depression, trauma or a search for identity and meaning. I have specific experience of working with pregnancy loss, parents seeking support with family life, students in higher education and survivors of sexual violence and domestic abuse.
Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked for many years as an executive coach, helping people to address the stress and unhappiness they were feeling at work or in their career. I saw how growing self-understanding was invaluable in enabling clients to find their own solutions to their troubles. Realising that many difficulties we face as adults are rooted in earlier life experiences led me to train as a therapist.
I work in an integrative way which means that I view you and your experience as unique and think about it with you from different perspectives, using a variety of psychological approaches. I work relationally, which means I focus on forming a strong connection between us which will enable you to understand yourself better as you work on what is troubling you.
I offer weekly 50-minute sessions in comfortable and confidential rooms in West Hampstead/Hampstead border, London NW3. Before deciding if we are going to work together, I recommend that we have an initial meeting, where you can learn more about me and how I work and I can start to understand your needs. Before any meeting, I offer a free phone consultation for you to tell me about your reasons for therapy and to answer your questions.
As a registered member of the BACP, I am bound by its Code of Ethics. My work is supervised by a senior practitioner.
Practice description
I work in-person with individual adults, from quiet and confidential rooms in London NW3. I can also offer online sessions when needed.
I will meet you at the same time and location every week, for either short (up to 12 sessions) or open-ended therapy, as agreed between us.
I welcome people of all ages, gender identities, sexualities, abilities, cultural backgrounds and ethnicity.
My first session
The first session is a chance for us to see if we are a good fit.
This session allows me to hear more about your concerns and gives you a chance to get to know how I practise before we decide if we wish to start working together.
