About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified and experienced counsellor and psychotherapist based in Woodford Green, East London. I provide a warm, empathic and confidential space in which my clients feel safe and supported. I seek to build strong and trusting bonds with my clients so that together we can explore the difficult thoughts and feelings that are impacting on their wellbeing and happiness.
I work as an integrative therapist adapting the way I work to the particular needs of my clients. I am influenced in this by Carl Jung who said, " learn your theories as well as you can, but put them aside when you touch the miracle of the living soul," Jung (1928). I have an extensive understanding of theories gained over 6 years of study which provide me with a solid base of knowledge to draw on when reflecting on my work with clients and reviewing our progress, however when we are together I like to work instinctively and intuitively , responding to my client brings and to their uniqueness and individuality.
In addition to my private practice I have experience of working within the NHS having delivered IAPT counselling for the North East London NHS Trust and within the South London and Maudsley Hospital NHS Trust. I have also worked for the charity MIND where I managed a large team of volunteer counsellors. I have experience in helping people with a range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, sexual abuse, relationship difficulties, workplace difficulties and bullying. I have also done a great deal of work with people in a transitional stage of life and people who may be struggling with questions of identity, self-esteem or in finding direction and purpose in life.
