About me and my therapy practice
I am a MSc-educated person-centred psychotherapist with a specialism in working with LGBTQ individuals, neurodivergent people and trauma survivors. I offer a safe space for everyone with a strong belief in providing an equal, understanding space for marginalised people. If you are looking for counselling sessions with a warm and gentle guiding presence, I am here to help you with your mental health journey.
We can explore things at a pressure-free and comfortable pace for you while encouraging you to live life to your full potential. I can help you to draw patterns between different elements of your life - your past and present, your thoughts and feelings, and your inner life and the world around you.
For people who are queer, neurodiverse or otherwise marginalised, my practice can offer a space free of assumptions, bias and stereotypes where your experience is truly valued and you are experienced in the fullness of who you are.
My practice offers a flexible and reflective look at your life and your mental health. Together, we can create the change you wish to see in your life.
Practice description
If you are looking for a counsellor, you might feel that you’re struggling to find a way to express your emotions. I can offer a non-judgmental, confidential space for you to explore anything that is distressing you. Whether you are struggling to deal with something difficult from your past or you are overwhelmed by emotions in the present, I can offer counselling sessions that are pressure-free and responsive to your needs.
I am an MSc-educated counsellor with experience working with a range of issues such as trauma, abuse, anxiety, relationship issues and many other concerns. I believe that every individual’s needs are unique and so I work to provide the best care for you according to my CORE philosophy:
C is for Celebratory. We work together to support you and a big part of that is taking time to celebrate the successes and the good moments. When you are making the effort to reach your full potential by taking the leap of coming to counselling, you deserve to take a moment to pat yourself on the back.
O is for Open. The counselling room is your space. This means that our work will be flexible to your needs and we will work creatively to get the best outcome for you.
R is for Relational. The most important part of counselling is building a strong relationship between you and me. This means taking time to value you for who you are and providing healthy, boundaried time for you to explore yourself within a caring relationship.
E is for Equal. I strive to create a space that works for everyone no matter your age, gender, sexuality, race or disability status. This means that I try to understand how you interact with the world and how that may be affected by your different identities. I have both lived and professional experience of LGBTQ+ life and I welcome people from all backgrounds to feel safe in my practice.
Each of these values forms an important part of the work we can do. Together, we can allow you to unlock your full potential and live a happier life.
My first session
I like to give you the space to decide for yourself if we are a good therapeutic match. Therefore, our first session will be a free, no commitment 30-minute consultation. This gives you the space to learn more about me, ask any questions you have, share your truth with me and leave feeling reassured about embracing your mental health journey.
