About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative counsellor and a registered member of the BACP.
I can offer you a safe and confidential space where you can feel heard and make sense of what is happening in your life. Whether you are seeking counselling because of a recent event or looking to process something from your past experience, I believe the counselling relationship can offer a powerful way of understanding yourself, your relationships and your experiences.
My training is in humanistic integrative counselling and I draw on different theoretical approaches to find the most helpful way forward for you. The approaches that influence my way of working include: Person-centred counselling, Gestalt, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and mindfulness. I like to encourage the use of creativity in sessions where that feels helpful and have found that using a creative approach can help you gain more insight into whatever is troubling you. I have recently completed further training in creative arts therapies.
I have experience of working with clients around a range of issues including: anxiety, depression, PTSD, complex trauma, bereavement, relationship difficulties, parenting, low self-esteem, autism and self harm.
I have been working to support people around their challenges since 2014. My roles have included supporting people by phone and text on a self injury helpline, as a social prescriber and as a counsellor at Bristol Mind. I currently work as a counsellor at Kinergy, a charity that offers counselling to survivors of sexual abuse.
