About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Maki, a Psychodynamic Counsellor and an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I provide a safe and reflective therapeutic space where you can explore and understand your emotions, feelings, and behaviours.
My approach is rooted in the understanding that significant events and relationships in our early life experiences can influence how we feel and behave in the present. Psychotherapy is a collaborative process that often requires the courage to admit you might need support and cannot do it alone.
In our sessions, I will listen to you empathetically and supportively, offering a confidential and non-judgmental environment. Together, we will explore your emotions, helping you understand and overcome any complex feelings you may have about yourself or significant others. This process can address whatever you feel might be holding you back from living a happy and fulfilled life.
Everyone experiences times when they feel stuck and need someone to talk to, but discussing personal issues with family or friends can sometimes feel too difficult. I provide a confidential, safe, and non-judgmental space for you to share your emotions.

The initial consultation lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes. During this time, we can explore your concerns and expectations. It’s an ideal opportunity for both of us to get to know each other. If you have any questions about my approach or would like to learn more about how the sessions will work, we can discuss that as well.
