About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome, I'm Linda.
I am a fully qualified and experienced Integrative/Creative counsellor offering in-person and online therapy for adults and young people (aged 16+).
If you are feeling anxious, depressed, stuck, lost, lonely, hurt, sad, overwhelmed or simply confused please get in touch for a chat.
Life is unpredictable; it can be difficult and messy, and sometimes things happen to us and our whole world can be turned upside down in a heartbeat. This can leave us struggling; thinking, feeling or behaving in ways we do not understand, perhaps wanting something to be different, but not knowing what or even how to begin.
I believe we all have within us the power to change, but we can't always see it, we don't always believe it and sometimes we can become stuck in that space.
I offer a safe and confidential space away from the pressures of your everyday life, where you are supported to explore what is going on for you, where you can learn more about yourself and what is important to you, and where you can begin to make sense of things.
I can't give you all the answers, as only you know what is right for you, but I will come with you on that journey of exploration, supporting you to make decisions for yourself, but not by yourself, helping you to find your way forward.
I work integratively, which means I draw from different counselling theories, incorporating some more creative tools and techniques where relevant. This allows me to tailor therapy to your unique needs, goals and preferences.
I offer short and long-term therapy, in-person and/or online, at a frequency that works for you, with regular reviews to see how we are doing together.
Practice description
My Training
I have a First Class BSc (Hons) Degree in Integrative Counselling from the University of East London, a BACP-accredited course.
Post-graduating, I completed some further training to be able to incorporate some more creative tools and techniques to help clients express themselves where words do not feel enough.
I am fully insured and hold an enhanced DBS check.
My Experience
I started my private practice in 2022, having previously worked for various counselling agencies in the London Borough of Havering and Essex, as well as selected schools, providing face-to-face, online and telephone counselling to children, young people and adults, and covering a wide variety of issues.
I also have over 5 years of experience as a Samaritans listening volunteer and branch community outreach lead as well as being a Havering Community Health Champion, and part of the Brentwood and Essex Community Tree Network, which allows me to view wellbeing holistically and signpost clients to other support services where this might be helpful.
My first session
Finding the right counsellor can feel quite daunting with so many of us to choose from. I offer a free, 20-minute, no-obligation, informal chat which gives me the chance to find out a little more about you and whether I can provide the help you are seeking. More importantly, it gives you the chance to learn a little bit more about me/my practice and whether you feel like we are a good fit and could work together.
Should you decide to go ahead, our first session will be a more detailed consultation where I will collect some information about you, your personal history, your current situation, what you hope to get from counselling and how you would like us to work together.
Before this session, you will be asked to provide some personal details and you will also be sent a copy of our counselling contract to review, complete and return.
If you decide you wish to continue, we will then set a day and time to meet, and our journey together will begin.
