About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome, thank you for taking the time to consider my profile. I am a qualified counselling therapist experienced in working with people dealing with change, transition and obstacles in their professional and personal lives, including in cross-cultural situations and challenges. I offer a professional, non-judgmental space for you to be listened to with respect and empathy. I support you to explore your issues at your own pace and in a way that feels right for you. When I work with someone, I think of what we might do together as ‘putting the big light on’: helping you to consider issues not as individual spot-lit problems but as a part of everything that you and your experiences comprise.I have an extensive background in education and worked for many years across six countries, including the Middle East and Asia. My work ranged from primary school teaching through working with asylum seekers and refugees on issues of cross-cultural communication, change and transition to cyber security training.I also have experience of diplomatic and army family life and the challenges that type of lifestyle present. I also have extensive boarding school experience. Alongside my private practice, I work with clients at a private practice based in Hove. I work online and on the telephone to enable maximum flexibility for those who might need to work more fluidly week to week.
Practice description
I offer both short-term and open-ended therapy sessions. I work online and also offer counselling over the telephone.
My first session
After an initial phone call (free of charge) to establish whether you think I might be the right person for you to work with, we would arrange work online or on the telephone for a 50 minute session. This time is an opportunity for you to share what you want to explore in counselling and ask me questions about how I work to help us both decide if we can work well together. It is very important that the therapist you choose to work with is right for you personally.
