About me and my therapy practice
I work with people who have experienced difficult/abusive childhood experiences, bereavement and loss, anxiety, low mood and many other situations for over 25 years, initially as a qualified social worker and more recently as a qualified counsellor.
You will be able to work through your emotions in a safe place in our counselling sessions.
I offer a warm, empathic and non-judgemental environment to support you in understanding what is happening in your life and relationships, and how you want to move forward.
I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).
I also have a Level 6 qualification in Imagery Rescripting, which is an evidence based intervention for adults who have experienced childhood trauma.
I presently counsel at a school working with neurodivergent students one day a week, volunteer at a community counselling service working with adults one morning a week, and have my own private practice in Canterbury.
Practice description
During therapy sessions we will be able to talk through your concerns confidentially, and we will work on them in a safe environment.
My therapy room is a calm, peaceful space. It is in Canterbury and is a 10 minute walk from the city centre. The therapy room is wheelchair accessible and also has toilet facilities.
I am also able to work online or on the phone if you would feel more comfortable with that.
Counselling sessions are for 50 minutes, and the cost is £50. We would usually meet once a week, but this can be adapted according to your needs.
My first session
I offer a free initial 20 minute session for you to come to meet me, and we can talk through what you want to focus on in counselling sessions.
I know that finding a therapist that you feel comfortable and safe with is very important. This will be an opportunity to see if I might be the right therapist for you.
