I tend to offer 8 sessions a day Monday-Thursday (on weeks in which there is a bank holiday, this will change to Tuesday-Friday). I will however try to be flexible where I can
The times of the slots I offer are 8am, 9am, 10:15am, 11:15am, 12:45pm, 1:45pm, 3pm and 4:15pm.
I do take time off for self-care but will always communicate in advance before this happens as to not disrupt your therapeutic experience.
Please feel free to enquire and I will do my best to provide a slot that is suitable for you.
About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified psychotherapist with a Master's degree in the subject and over 3000 sessions under my belt.
I work in an interactive and warm way in the sessions that I host. I try to offer a welcoming and safe space for you to be able to open up and look at whatever you might need to. I very much believe in working as a team so a lot of my practice is based on working together.
I tend to be interactive between sessions and will share articles or resources that might support the things that we have been working on within sessions.
I also try to respond to messages as soon as regularly as I can.
Practice description
I have worked with a number of issues from things such as bereavement and anxiety to other concerns such as trauma and terminal illness. My role is to support you as best as I can and I will do the best that I can to offer support to the best of my ability no matter what issue may be troubling you.
My practice is based on person-centred therapy which is very much of the belief that respecting your right to autonomy is imperative in helping you in improving your situation. I am also of the belief that by working as a team, we can improve things for you together.
In terms of my practice, I have made it my mission to learn a variety of different techniques and modalities so that I am in the best possible position to offer support as your experience will be as unique as your are. I have an overview of some of the different areas of how my therapy will look that I can provide before undertaking any sessions which might help to give you an idea of some of the things to possibly expect. This will include things such as safeguarding and confidentiality policy so that you can be safe in the knowledge that your well-being is the most important thing in my practice.
My first session
The first session tends to be about getting to know one another as a very important element of the therapeutic relationship is that of the relationship itself. If you are able to feel safe, then it helps to develop trust and allow you to feel more comfortable to explore what you might be experiencing.
This may also include a summary of what might be happening for you, however there is no expectation on what this session has to be. Just being brave enough to reach out takes a lot of courage on it's own and as such you can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable.
There is also no expectation in terms of session length and in any session you can always bring it to a close early if you feel that you have had enough for that day or if it is too much for you at any time.
What I can help with
Abuse, ADD / ADHD, Anger management, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Bereavement, Cancer, Chronic fatigue syndrome / ME, Cultural issues, Depression, Health related issues, Identity issues, LGBTQ+ counselling, Life coaching, Loss, Men's issues, Personal development, Phobias, Post-traumatic stress, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Sex-related issues, Spirituality, Stress, Trauma, Vegan allied, Work related issues
