About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I’m Donna Morris and I am a person-centred counsellor and a registered member of the BACP. I have 5 years of experience, working within a charity organisation and specialising in bereavement and Counselling for Depression.

I believe that sharing with others in a safe, confidential environment can help if you feel that something in your life is not quite right and you are unable to find the cause, or it may be that you know the source of your anxieties and low mood but have never felt able to talk about it or share it with another who will empathise with you without judgement.

I am able to provide a warm welcoming, safe place where you can be heard and accepted so that you are able to explore the struggles which affect you.

I have experience in helping those who are struggling to cope with different issues and situations especially those who experience high anxiety, low mood and have suffered bereavement.

Reaching out for help can be really difficult but by working together to build a therapeutic relationship in which you are listened to and understood, helps individuals to be able to process and reflect on their thoughts and feelings to be able to move forward in their recovery.

Practice description

I am fully qualified (Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling) and have worked within a charity organisation for the last 5 years. I am currently undertaking the Counselling for Depression certification.

I have been a volunteer listener and trainer for the Samaritans and a bereavement support volunteer for Cruse.

I specialise in working with grief and loss, working with the effects of traumatic experiences, including working with anxiety, self-harm, depression, drugs and alcohol problems, feeling stuck, unworthy, low self-esteem, domestic violence, sexual violence and suicidal thoughts and feelings.

I offer unlimited, hourly sessions both in person from my room in Willerby Square or remotely. Please feel free to reach out and call me for a free first chat and take things from there!
