About me and my therapy practice
Mental health difficulties can feel lonely and scary, and impact, not only on our sense of self, but also on our relationships. I can offer a warm and compassionate therapeutic relationship where you can explore how you are feeling. I can support you in a process of reflection and help you connect to your inner wisdom and strength so that you can move forward with clarity, calm and renewed confidence.
I am an integrative counsellor. My core approach is person-centred; I will be led by you and will draw in what fits best with your needs. This approach has, at its heart, a belief that every person has the capacity to resolve their problems and that this happens naturally within a therapeutic relationship. I can also draw ideas and techniques from Gestalt Therapy, Psychodynamic theory and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
I have a particular interest in trauma informed approaches and in the wisdom that lies within our bodies (see my website for more on this). I am currently undertaking post graduate training in EMDR therapy - if you would like to explore working in this way, please do let me know.
Practice description
If you are feeling anxious and overwhelmed or stuck in cycles of worry, we can explore these difficulties together, bring into full awareness embodied and unconscious processes so that you feel more in control.
You may be going through a process of change that is testing your usual coping strategies and you feel you need someone to talk to about how best to navigate new paths or explore what is most important to you. I can help you connect to your authentic sense of self so that you can move forward with confidence and clarity.
You may be noticing that your nervous system is constantly in a state of fight or flight and wondering why. I can offer a trauma informed approach that can help to understand these processes and heal past wounds that still have an impact on your life now.
If any of this resonates with you and you feel I can help you on your healing journey, please get in touch - it would be a privilege to accompany you on that journey.
My first session
When I receive your enquiry, I will contact you by email within 24 hours to let you know what availability I have.
