Hello, I offer face-to-face weekly sessions Monday to Thursday from 2pm til 9pm, and all day on Fridays, with online sessions also available. Each session is one hour.
My therapy room is situated on the top floor and is accessible by stairs only. I don't currently work with couples or under 18s.
About me and my therapy practice
Do you put on a brave face but feel differently on the inside? Perhaps you’re empty and numb, or maybe overwhelmed by emotions? Are you finding it hard to cope day-to-day? I know how tough life can be at times and how lonely it feels when no one seems to understand.
If you’re wondering when you’ll feel happy or hopeful again, or you’re worrying about the future and fearing the worst, or maybe you’re struggling with a big change and a sense of who you are, I’d like to help.
Feeling lost or stuck can be scary. Feeling sad, like you're too much for other people or not enough, or like you just don't fit in, can be really isolating. You're not alone. I understand. Come and talk to me and together, we'll find a way through this.
Being able to talk freely to someone, without fear of judgement or shame, can be a huge relief. To feel seen and truly heard, and accepted for who you are is liberating, like a breath of fresh air.
Practice description
I support adults affected by anxiety, depression, grief, low self esteem, or relationship issues, often those who have experienced bereavement, a major life transition or trauma, or childhood sexual abuse. I also have a keen interest in helping university students navigate the challenges they face.
Our work together can help ease your pain and loneliness, and support you to feel calmer and clearer, to cope more easily, and to feel better about yourself. We will go at your pace and, whatever comes up, we can make sense of it together.
I am passionate about reducing distress, healing from trauma, and encouraging you to believe it's ok to be you.
In addition to my specialist training and many hundreds of client hours, I draw upon my own lived experience to help people struggling with a sense of worry, loss, or worthlessness. I bring my warmth, compassion and intuition to build a genuine connection and a safe therapeutic relationship that is healing.
Counselling has helped me through some difficult times; I’m confident it can help you, too.
Next step...
I work on a one-to-one basis in person from my therapy room in the centre of Exeter and also online using Zoom. I offer a free initial call or meeting, giving us a chance to get to know each other a little before you commit to anything. It’s important you choose a counsellor you feel comfortable with.
Drop me an email to arrange a time to have an informal chat. I look forward to hearing from you. Take care.
