About me and my therapy practice
A warm welcome to you. Some people experience life as easy-going, wonderful and enjoyable. Others experience life as a struggle, feeling judged, not “good enough” and unable to cope. Many find life hard as a result of things that they have experienced, perhaps the death of a loved one, growing up in care, an abusive relationship, or any number of other, personal, struggles.
Working in a peaceful, rural location, I offer an open, safe, confidential and supportive space to explore the difficulties you may be feeling and where we can engage with the healing qualities of nature to work through whatever has brought you to see me.
I'm a BACP registered Integrative Counsellor and qualified equine assisted learning facilitator, offering a professional, confidential counselling service just outside Bridgwater TA6, Somerset. I work in different ways and can offer a traditional counselling room setting, online counselling, outdoors “walk and talk” counselling/"ecotherapy" and equine-assisted learning and therapy with horses as co-facilitators.
I offer a warm and open space for you to explore what you need to.
Practice description
I'm a qualified counsellor and equine assisted learning facilitator with a passion for nature and the healing it can bring.
My practice is set in a rural location just outside Bridgwater and sessions can take place either in a shepherd's hut which looks out across fields to the Quantock Hills beyond or in a location of your choice, either seated or walking in and around the surrounding fields, stables and barns. It is your choice too whether you wish to engage with the horses and involve them in your journey of healing and self-discovery.
My main concern is to provide a space where we can work together to begin to explore, understand and resolve the issues which have brought you to therapy.
My first session
Our first session is free of charge and will consist of an initial discussion and assessment around your wishes and needs, looking at what you would like to gain from counselling and over what time period. It is an opportunity for us to decide if we will be a good "fit" and to discuss what you would like from your sessions. There will also be some brief paperwork to agree how we will work together - but nothing too onerous!
