About me and my therapy practice
Hello,
Sometimes life can be difficult, it can feel overwhelming when asking for help and support so I welcome you to my profile.
common causes of distress are often:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Self Worth
- Relationship Issues
- Loss/Bereavement
- Work Related Issues
- And many more
Some people feel disconnected to themselves and the world around them without knowing the cause. Counselling can be a way to unearth these disconnections.
About me
I am a qualified person-centred counsellor, who believes in creating a space where you can feel truly heard without judgement.
We can work on building an open and trusting therapeutic relationship, collaboratively exploring thoughts, feelings and senses, for a greater understanding of self.
I have worked with a diverse range of clients enabling me to gain valuable experience. I work with adults, young people and children from the age of 6 years old.
When working with young people and children, I may work in a more creative way, adapting to each unique individual. Communicating our thoughts and feelings can be hard, creative activities can help channel expression gently approaching inner feelings.
Experience
I have worked with adults at St.Wilfreds Hospice in a bereavement and loss focused counselling role.
I also worked within The Seahorse Project (within St. Wilfreds Hospice) working with young people and children ages 6-18 years.
Alongside my private practice I am a volunteer counsellor for Macmillan Cancer charity.
Qualifications
I am a registered member (Reg.No. 387812) of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I hold professional insurance and registered with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO).
I am DBS enhanced checked.
I hold a Fdsc in person-centred counselling (University of Brighton).
