About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I’m Cathie, the process of looking for a counsellor can be a little daunting, so welcome you to my profile. I like to work with anyone who feels they need help to be curious about the difficulties they experience.

My experience as a children and young people’s counsellor allows me to reach out to clients of high school age in addition to experience of counselling adults of all ages. I also work empathically with parent/child relationships and families, relationships under strain due to a diagnosis including neurodivergent conditions and age-related pressures. I have worked extensively with people with neurodivergent conditions and mental health difficulties.

Practice description

My practice is inclusive and my space is accessible, so allowing you to bring to counselling any thoughts and feelings you feel you need help with. Each person brings their own set of needs so there are no wrong answers or ways of seeing things. I work unconditionally in a Person-Centred way; I strongly believe that each person is an expert on their own set of needs. I can help you to work towards a point where you feel satisfied with your understanding of you and able to cope with your individual challenges.

I am happy to work in person at my space or online face to face in a safe and confidential space of your own. I look forward to sharing and facilitating your process.

I am a BACP member.

My first session

I offer a 50-minute first session, to find out if we would like to work together at a rate of £20 for this introductory session. We will discuss what it is that brings you to counselling and complete registration and assessment. If we decide we are a good working partnership then we will agree a mutually convenient date and time for our sessions. I feel it is important to have an agreed day and time at the end of the sessions to allow for continuity clarity.
