About me and my therapy practice

Welcome to Teague Therapy! I'm Aminah Teague, your counsellor dedicated to providing a therapeutic environment where you feel genuinely heard and understood. My mission is to gently challenge you to make meaningful changes in your life while ensuring you feel supported and respected throughout the process.

How I Work:

My approach is primarily person-centred, which means I focus on creating a compassionate and empathetic space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. This allows us to work together in a way that respects your individuality and unique experiences.

As an integrative therapist, I draw from various therapeutic techniques to tailor our sessions to your needs. This might include:

• Systemic Therapy: To understand the complexities of your relationships and the impact of family dynamics on your emotional well-being.

• Solution-Focused Therapy: To highlight your strengths and guide you towards practical solutions to your current challenges.

• Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): To help you identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviours, promoting healthier thinking and actions.

Practice description

What to Expect in Our Sessions:

• A compassionate and empathetic approach that respects and values your individuality.

In my Practice, I Specialise in:

• Anxiety (including social anxiety and health anxiety): Helping you uncover the reasons behind persistent anxiety and working with you to find ways to manage and reduce these feelings.

• Intercultural Therapy: Valuing cultural diversity and supporting individuals from various backgrounds, acknowledging and dismantling oppressive cultural norms to tackle family issues, abuse, and loneliness.

Additionally, I have experience with therapy for:

• depression, low mood and feeling sad

• low self-esteem

• neurodiversity, including ADHD and autism

• obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)

As an LGBTQ+ affirming counsellor, I welcome all types of relationships and offer support to anyone in need, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, or relationship type.

At Teague Therapy, patients are not one-size-fits-all; therapy should reflect that individuality. I'm committed to providing personalised care that meets your unique needs and supports your journey towards a more fulfilling life.
