About me and my therapy practice
Are you suffering from low self esteem? Feeling stuck in cycles of negative thinking? Or gripped with anxiety that stops you living the life you want?
I can help you to understand why you feel like you do. Through paying attention to the unconscious patterns that may be guiding your behaviours and relationships you will learn how to feel more in control of your emotional responses and to make positive changes that bring you closer to the life you want to lead.
I will try to understand what it is like to be you in the world. Together we will discover the stories that you may be telling yourself and how they shape how you think, feel and behave. Through deepening your understanding of yourself we will explore different narratives which may offer you the freedom to make different choices.
Practice description
My style is warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental. I use an integrative approach which means I draw from different psychotherapeutic models and techniques to work with you in a way that best suits your unique needs.
I have been a psychotherapist for over a decade but remain as enthralled today as I was at the beginning. It is my privilege to witness so many incredible journeys of discovery and remarkable change.
Prior to this, I worked within the corporate sector at a snr level so understand the pressure of professional life and the challenges of maintaining a work persona that may be at odds with an authentic self. I am also a mother of two young children and so have experience of the struggle that family life can bring.
My first session
The first session can feel very daunting, however there is nothing to fear.
I will tell you more about me and how I work and I will try to get a sense of your current experience and what is going on for you in the here and now.
In subsequent sessions we will look more closely at your earlier life, family and meaningful relationships that have shaped who you are. This will help to build the landscape that has underpinned who you are today.
