About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Tiggy. I am a warm, friendly qualified counsellor offering online counselling for those aged 18 and over who are living in the UK.
I can offer you empathy and compassion with a non-judgemental approach, building on many years experience working in people-related fields.
I am able to provide a private, regular time and space where we can meet and I will listen carefully to you and whatever you wish to bring to discuss in our sessions.
I work as an Integrative counsellor which means I believe there isn’t just one therapeutic approach that fits every client. I regard you 'holistically' as an individual with your own personal circumstances, and use elements of different approaches to help you explore and find solutions to cope with your problems.
Training, qualifications & experience
I spent 3 years prior to COVID working FTF with a local charity as an adult counsellor. I now work online with another charity, Evolve, as an online counsellor which offers affordable counselling to adults in the Cambridge area alongside my Private Practice.
I am a member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychology) and also a member of ACTO (Association for Counselling and Therapy Online).
My counselling practice builds on my many years of life experience as a community nurse working with people of all ages from all different walks of life and cultural backgrounds.
My qualifications:
Diploma in Online Counselling (OCST)
Level 4 Diploma In Integrative Therapeutic Counselling (CPCAB)
Registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy)
Level 2 Membership of ACTO
BSc (Hons) in Adult Nursing
Practice description
I can offer you online counselling via a selection of internet mediums. Choose from webcam using Google Meet. This is via a link that I share with you so no software has to be downloaded.
I also offer instant messenger or email options. There is also the option of telephone counselling if using the internet is not possible for you, or you just prefer this method.
I do not offer advice, instead, by employing a person-centred approach my aim is to help you unpick the issues that are troubling you by exploring your feelings, beliefs, behaviour and your own worldview.
My first session
I understand that this may be a big step for you and you may need time to think about a commitment to counselling.
A good way to get a feel for whether you and I could work well together is to book a one-off paid session which offers you an hour to give me a flavour of what you would like to bring to counselling and for me to carry out an assessment of your needs.
After this initial session, if you decide you do not wish to go ahead with counselling at this time, or perhaps I feel that I am unable to help you with a specific issue, then there is no obligation to take things any further.
