About me and my therapy practice
I AM CURRENTLY UNABLE TO TAKE ON ANY NEW CLIENTS
If you are finding life difficult; feeling overwhelmed; finding it hard to cope; experiencing mental or emotional distress; feeling dissatisfied with life; have lost your sense of purpose and direction; are struggling with your mental health, or simply wish to undertake some self-exploration, then therapy can provide a time and space for reflection, exploration, support and understanding that you may not readily have in your daily life.
Whatever it is that brings you to therapy, I am committed to supporting you in your potential to heal, grow and work towards achieving better emotional well-being and mental health.
I will provide a safe space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings about any area in your life, in order for you to gain new insights and facilitate change and growth.
I work with clients who present a variety of reasons for seeking therapy such as stress, bereavement, loss, relationship difficulties, work-life imbalance, financial worries, low self-esteem/ confidence, low mood, loneliness, career challenges, family relationships/ dynamics, or with clients who have specific reasons such as anxiety, depression, alcohol and substance misuse, addictive behaviours, anger management issues, unresolved trauma, shame, LGBTQ+, social anxiety, domestic abuse, childhood abuse, and with clients experiencing the challenges of specific mental health diagnoses such as DID, Bi-Polar, and Personality Disorders.
Whatever your reason for seeking some support, getting in touch will be the first step towards your journey of healing and change.
Practice description
Each piece of therapeutic work is unique and I offer short term counselling or longer term psychotherapy to adults on an individual basis.
I do not dictate the length of time we work together, or the frequency. We would discuss this and you would decide what works for you. Sessions can be booked ad hoc or regular slots pre-booked.
I offer in person sessions in my therapy space in Waterloo, L22, or telephone/ online sessions.
I also offer therapeutic supervision/ reflective practice to clients in professions that may require an element of dealing with work pressure/ stress, such as NHS staff, school/ education staff, emergency service staff.
As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society, I adhere to their Ethical Frameworks. This includes keeping up to date with continuing professional development and having regular clinical supervision.
I have Professional Liability and Personal Indemnity insurance. I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office and uphold GDPR guidelines.
I have a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice (Level 7), and I draw upon both Humanistic and Psychodynamic theory in my approach.

About me and my therapy practice
I am a psychotherapist, supervisor and tutor working in my private practice in Waterloo, Liverpool 22. I offer in person sessions in my therapy space, and where appropriate offer remote sessions online or by telephone. I work with both adults and adolescents. I also work on a consultancy basis for a local Women’s charity supporting counselling delivery and teaching counselling courses. I also offer therapeutic supervision/ reflective practice to clients in professions that may require an element of dealing with work pressure/ stress, such as NHS staff, school/ education staff, emergency service staff.
As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (MNCPS Accred), I adhere to their Ethical Frameworks. I have a supervision certificate from the Association for Psychological Therapies.
Having had a previous career in education, including senior leadership, I have extensive experience of safeguarding young people and the leadership and management of organisations.
Practice description
I provide clinical supervision for trainees, recently qualified and experienced psychotherapists and counsellors from any modality who hold the therapeutic relationship central to their work and are open to working relationally in supervision.
My approach as a clinical supervisor is to encourage your development and effectiveness as a psychotherapist or counsellor while ensuring that you maintain safe, professional and ethical standards of practice. I seek to provide a supportive and confidential setting for supervisees to critically reflect on and explore all aspects of their client work.
Whilst your work with clients will be the main focus of our supervision, there would also be time for you to look at your own needs, as I believe that your well-being is vital to ensure good working practice, while maintaining the boundaries between supervision and personal therapy.
As a practitioner working in their own private practice, and having also worked for several organisations, I am able to support you whether you work independently or as part of a team. I can also support supervisees as they navigate setting up, managing and growing their private practice or portfolio of work.
Having studied to master’s level in my core training, I have a sound theoretical knowledge of the core and more contemporary theories within the person-centred and experiential approaches, and therefore am well placed to support person-centred trainees who would like supervision to enhance and consolidate their knowledge. In addition, I can offer academic supervision which students find helpful, often alongside clinical supervision or as an integrated part of supervision whilst training.
If you have any questions about how I work, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
My first session
I offer a free, short phone or online consultation with no obligation for any potential supervisee. This time allows me to get to know your needs, explain my services and answer any of your questions. It also allows you to get a sense of whether I am someone you feel you could work with.
In the first session of supervision, we will discuss your requirements for supervision, clarify frequency of sessions based on your caseload, experience, training or accreditation requirements and to establish how we might work together, alongside contracting for your supervision.
My expectations of you as a potential supervisee are that you will have professional indemnity insurance (either personally or via the organisation you work for) and that you are a member of a professional organisation, such as the BACP or NCPS, and abide by its code of ethics.
